  What Is the CMA Program?
The Certified Management Accountant (CMA) credentials are the professional designations for management accountants and financial managers . The certificate provides distinction in today's economic climate and is an opportunity to certify your expertise in business areas that are critical to the decision-making process.
The growing list of CMAs includes individuals holding top management positions, middle managers working to become the leaders of the next decade, and those just starting their careers in management accounting and financial management. Regardless of where you are in your career or the size of your organization, the CMA credentials provide an added dimension to your professional development.

What Is the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA)?
The IMA is the leading professional organization devoted exclusively to management accounting and financial management.

The IMA provides members with extensive opportunities to build their professional knowledge and advance their careers, including national seminars and conferences, regional and local programs, self-study courses, and in-hours and on-line programs.

In 1972, the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) began the Certified Management Accountant (CMA) program to provide professional recognition for the management accountant that would be a comparable designation of the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) for the public accountants.

In 1996, the IMA began the Certified in Financial Management (CFM) designation. Earning and maintaining these certifications testify to the individual's competence and expertise in management accounting and financial management.
